Frequently Asked Questions

Most frequent questions and answers

Why is it important that my dog be walked? They have held it for up to 12 hours before, so what’s the big deal?

Having your dog walked during your workday is important for many reasons. One of which being that by forcing your dog to hold their bladder for that many hours on a regular basis can lead to urinary tract and bladder infections. Another reason is socialization. Dogs are pack animals and whether their pack includes other animals or people, they are happier when they are not left alone for hours on a regular basis.

How do I know that my pet is being cared for?

With Time to Pet, once you activate your account, you will receive photo and message updates via email or text on the schedule determined during your initial consultation.

How do I pay for services?

We accept Cash, Check and a variety of electronic platforms. We do not accept Credit card payments at this time.

My pet has special needs, can you accommodate them?

The short answer is that it depends. Please provide any pertinent information and ask any questions necessary. If we can fulfill your pet’s requirements without putting their safety at risk, we are happy to help!

Do you work on Holidays?

Yes! Due to the high volume of demand on these days, services are charged at a “premium rate.” Please check under the “services” section for prices and specific holidays.

What is the window for walks?

For “Peak” periods we give you a 2 hr window, with exceptions for puppies and senior dogs when necessary. Most walks outside of these time frames you will have a 1 hr window.

What if I have 2 dogs and my neighbor wants their dog(s) walked with mine?

For safety reasons and for the dogs’ enjoyment walks are limited to 3 dogs so long as they are under 30lbs each and non-reactive. In these instances, we are happy to accommodate these requests otherwise other arrangements can be made.

Will you take our dogs to a dog park?

If your community has a dog park and you would like us to take your dog there, yes, however we will not bring your dog into a park with other dogs. Exceptions will only be made if you provide a list of “friends” your dog is allowed to play with and the other dog is with their owner.

Do you let the dogs interact with other dogs?

As a general rule, no. If your dog is friendly and the oncoming dog is a known “friend” then we will allow them to greet one another.
